Fido Scurry
The Fido Scurry 5k is an annual event hosted by the Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter, and ever year it's a ton of fun! Not only can you and your pet participate in a fundraising 5k race or walk, but you can also join in on an after party that includes fun animal demonstrations, agility courses, pet costume contests, and of course, a pet parade! Free to attend, there's a small cost to register for the run, but all proceeds will go toward helping the animals of the Shelter!36
Furry Fiesta
A margarita in one hand and a furry paw in the other, what more could you possibly want? The Furry Fiesta is an annual event that the Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter hosts that celebrates Cinco De Mayo! For just $30, you and your pup can purchase a ticket that includes 2 drinks and a taco bar! A taco bar, people. Can you imagine a better bar? Your pooch is welcome, just remember to keep him leashed and well-behaved!24
Pet Photos with Santa
With Christmas time nearing, you know you don't want to miss out on including your pup in the family traditions, and luckily, the Decatur and Macon County Animal Shelter gives you the perfect opportunity to do so! Every year, they host a Pet Photos With Santa event. For just $5, you and your pooch can pose with the big guy, making the perfect Christmas cards! Don't forget to keep your four-legged friend on his best behavior, and definitely don't forget your camera, ans they won't have a photographer on location.12
Ales for Tales
What can we say, the Decatur Animal Shelter loves to organize events! This particular event is a $25 admission, but it's well worth it. Your ticket will include a few hours of beers from around the world as well as delicious appetizers. You and your pup can hang out on the patio, dine on delicious treats, and meet other pups and their pawrents, all while supporting the shelter!
Waggin Tails Disco Party
This annual event is a waggin' good time! You and your pup can join hundreds of others for a bit of dancin', a bit of drinkin', and a lot of sniffin'. This disco party will feature a fun, doggo-friendly DJ, delicious food, some drinks, and of course, a dance floor! You won't want to miss out on teh chance to shake your tail and support the shelter all at once!
