Heaven was heaven for our dog Jack for over 2 weeks while we were off island. Jingle Rock Run
Lace up your runners, leash up your pet, and embrace the Christmas spirit at this fabulous paw-liday event. The Jingle Rock Run is a 5K festive holiday walk that benefits Make-A-Wish Hawaii. The whole family is welcome, including your four-legged friend, and there’s no better way to see the city lights of Honolulu than at this magical time of year. The course takes you through downtown Honolulu and is known for its signature fun vibe. There’s also live entertainment and food to ensure that all two- and four-legged walkers are kept entertained, plus a special Keiki Sprint for young revellers. Add it to your diary for next year!

Central Oahu Pet Walk
“Pets. People. And Pups; Under the stars.” That’s the tagline for the Central Oahu Pet Walk, and it’s exactly what you can expect if you and your pooch join this family-friendly stroll. Held in August to benefit Poi Dogs & Popoki, this is Hawaii’s only lighted night walk for pets and their people. You and your pooch can enjoy a lovely summer stroll, meet other pet lovers and their furry friends, and indulge in a range of activities and refreshments along the way. The one-mile walk includes doggy water play, canine games, plenty of food and drink, and heaps of pet product exhibitors. In other words, it’s a whole lot more than just another dog walk!

Hawaii Pet Expo
Celebrate National Pet Week with your friend at the Hawaii Pet Expo. Held by the Hawaii Veterinary Medical Association (HVMA), this pooch-friendly event promotes responsible pet ownership and aims to strengthen the bond that people share with their pets. Highlights of the weekend include live animal demonstrations, educational displays, and the chance to shop the latest and greatest pet products. Leashed dogs are more than welcome, so get along to the expo and experience it all with your pet!

PetWalk
Food, furr-ocious fun, and a Fido-friendly walk — that’s what you can enjoy at PetWalk, an annual fundraiser for the Hawaiian Humane Society! This mahalo party centers around a relaxed walk for the whole family, with long and short courses available to suit different human and canine fitness levels. But there’s plenty more to enjoy as well, including an adorable pet costume contest and pet parade, live entertainment, and free grooming. It’s a great day out for a very worthwhile cause, so grrr-ab your pooch and check it out!
Canine Game Day
Ruff it up with your four-legged friend at Canine Game Day. Held each July by the Hawaiian Humane Society, this paw-some day out is packed full with a whole heap of wonderful doggy activities and games! You can enter your pooch in the wagging contest, best trick contest, or dog derby, or the two of you can join forces to battle for the title of best dog and owner lookalike. If it all gets too much, your pet can cool off in the doggy pool. While you are there, be sure to peruse through the many vendors that provide plenty of shopping opportunities. Let the games begin!
