Clarissa treated Bishop great. I would recommend her to anyone and will request her the next time I need him to be boarded when I go out of town.

Walk for the Animals

This paw-some annual event is a simple and highly enjoyable way to raise essential funds to support pets in need. Held to benefit the Atlanta Humane Society, Walk for the Animals features a 5K or 3-mile walk around Atlantic Station, while there’s also a 1-mile walk for those who don’t feel up to tackling the longer distance. Friendly, vaccinated dogs are welcome to attend, and you’re encouraged to dress your pet in her cutest costume or practise her favorite trick for the costume and best trick contests! While there’s no fee to register for the event, everyone is encouraged to raise as many funds as possible to support the animals in the care of the Atlanta Humane Society.

Halloween Yappy Hour

Halloween fun with your pooch and plenty of other animal lovers — that’s what you can expect at this popular social event! Held at Vickery’s Bar & Grill in Glenwood Park, Halloween Yappy Hour features a cute and cuddly pet costume party and photo shoot in aid of the Atlanta Humane Society. While you enjoy some of the delicious drink specials, your pooch can paw-ty down with heaps of other canines!  It’s fabulous fun and promises a howlingly-good time for all involved! A $10 donation fee is all you need to participate, and that donation goes directly to benefit the Atlanta Humane Society.

Rescue Dog Olympics

St Patrick’s Day goes to the dogs at this woof-tastic and howl-arious canine event! The Rescue Dog Olympics are held in BrookRun Park, Dunwoody, to celebrate dogs and their humans. Unlike your traditional dog show and some other canine sporting events, this event is all about interactive, fun, and occasionally silly games for pets and people! There’s also a pet costume contest, dock diving demos and try-its, a pet rescue dog fashion show, dog-related vendors, and dog training sessions. Of course, there’s also a beer garden and plenty of refreshments on offer, with the overall aim of the event being to raise awareness of pet adoption. It's good fun for an even better cause!

Splish Splash Doggie Bash

Make a splash with your dog at this fur-ociously fun doggie pool party! Held in October at Piedmont Park Swimming Pool, the Splish Splash Doggie Bash sees hundreds of Atlanta’s furry friends take up the opportunity to dive into the pool’s crystal clear water. There are paw-some photo opportunities, heaps of dog vendors and grrr-eat giveaways, live music, and a bar, but the highlight is watching your dog take to the water and have a grand old time! Proceeds from the event benefit the Piedmont Park Conservancy, which is responsible for the funding and maintenance of the Piedmont Park Dog Parks.

Puglanta PugFest

Puglanta Dog Rescue is a non-profit dedicated to rescuing homeless Pugs and Pug-mixes. Each year, in conjunction with Loving Touch Animal Center in Stone Mountain, it hosts this mutts-see celebration of all things Pug! There are canine contests, food trucks, live music, vendors, a Pug kissing booth, and even a top-secret anal gland expression booth (gross, but necessary). And you don’t have to be a Pug to attend, with leashed, well-behaved dogs of all shapes and sizes being more than welcome. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids under the age of 12. Best of all, your dog gets in for free!
