Pearson Arastradero Preserve
Are you and your pup in search of some fresh air and an adventure at the same time? The Pearson Arastradero Preserve is a lovely nature area with more than 10 miles of trails to explore, making it a favorite of the area's canines. The trails are remarkably well-maintained and highlight a lake and beautiful vistas of the Bay area. Take your leashed pets around the stunning preservation area for a bit of exercise and a slice of adventure. The preserve offers bathrooms, water, and benches to accommodate your visit. Come soak in the beauty where broadleaf evergreen forest and rolling savanna grassland meet!36
Hoover Park
Hoover Park is a 4.2-acre neighborhood park that is the perfect place to bring your pooch! The park offers grassy, wide-open spaces, paths to meander, picnic areas, and a creek to explore with your four-legged friend. There is even a fenced off-leash area for dogs to play and stretch their legs. Perfect on a hot summer day, the dog park area is fully shaded. It is, however, entirely dirt, so your pup may be a little less clean upon exiting the dog park. Be sure to check out the dry watercourse along the south side of the park. It was drained as a result of the drought in 1976 and boulders of various sizes sit in the once flowing bed.24
Baylands Nature Preserve
The 1,940-acre Palo Alto Baylands Nature Preserve is the largest tract of undisturbed marshland in the San Francisco Bay. This space offers 15-miles of trails through various freshwater and tidal habitats. Many know this preserve for some of the best bird watching on the west coast. It has a substantial resident bird population and is a major stopover for migratory shorebirds on the Pacific Flyway. Baylands Nature Preserve is also home to numerous species of plants and animals, including the salt marsh harvest mouse, grey fox, and the endangered Ridgway's Rail. Leashed dogs are welcome to explore the trails with you, but be sure to clean up after them!12
Poodle Day
Show your curly-haired canine some love! All puddle dogs are invited to come celebrate their springy selves at Poodle Day each September in nearby Carmel. The event is packed full of pooch fun, with many activities scheduled, and an area designated to off-leash play on the beach! There is even a Poodle Parade, just to get totally carried away in all of the poodle love. The best part about the whole day is that proceeds go to benefit Poodles in need through Norcal Poodle Rescue!Dog Day of Summer

Pooches and their people are invited to come enjoy heaps of summer fun hosted by the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center. There will be a doggy costume contest, lots of fitness activities and demonstrations, and a giant section of fun for any kiddos that come along!
