Irina took wonderful care of Fluff when she stayed with her while I was overseas. It was very hard to leave her behind but Irina kept me up to date on fluff. Laural was absolutely amazing with our fur babies! She gave us such peace of mind while we were away knowing Minnie, Bruno, and Gamora were in loving and caring hands. The love, patience, and attention she gave them truly meant so much to us and honestly can t even be put into words. Bark in the Park San Jose
When an event holds the title of the largest dog festival in the United States, you know it’s going to have a whole lot to offer to dog lovers of all ages. Bark in the Park San Jose, held in William Street Park in downtown San Jose, is a huge celebration of all things canine! You and your pooch can join thousands of other dog lovers and their furry friends to enjoy the cute Dog Costume Contest, Dog/Owner Look-Alike Contest and Tail Wagging Contest, or watch training and agility demonstrations. Other highlights include dog-specific vendors, delicious food and drink, and a kids’ zone, with event proceeds going to a host of local community and pet-focused organizations! Admission is free, but a $5 donation per dog is encouraged.

Dog Day at the Park
Each year in the lead-up to Christmas, downtown San Jose’s Plaza de Cesar Chavez is transformed into a magical Christmas fantasyland that the whole family will love! This Christmas in the Park festival features a spectacular light display, Santa visits, musical and animated exhibits, and an impressive 60-foot Community Giving Tree. The highlight for pet lovers, however, is Dog Day at the Park, when all well-behaved pooches are welcome to visit Santa in the festival’s gorgeous Santa House! You can order a custom photo or tchotchke from your experience, or just take photos for free with your own camera. It’s a wonderful way to get into the holiday spirit with your pooch, so check it out next December.

Hoofin & Woofin 5K9
If you love getting active with your pooch and you’re always keen to raise money for a good canine cause, the Hoofin & Woofin 5K9 will be right up your alley! Held in October at Hellyer County Park, this dog-friendly walk/run is a fundraiser to benefit the National Canine Cancer Foundation. You and your furry friend can tackle either a 5K or 1K course at whatever pace you feel comfortable, meeting plenty of other dog lovers and their pets along the way. It’s a whole lot of fun and a grrr-eat way to work up a sweat, but the best part is knowing that you’re helping raise funds to save lives and eliminate cancer in dogs!

Tails & Ales
A family-friendly day out featuring beer, wine, and plenty of doggy games and activities — sounds pretty woof-tastic, right? That’s exactly what you can expect at Tails & Ales, an eagerly-anticipated fundraiser for Humane Society Silicon Valley. Held at Google Crittenden campus in Mountain View, this paw-some event features delicious drinks from local breweries and wineries, craft for kids, family-fun activities, and heaps of vendors! Proceeds from Tails & Ales help Humane Society Silicon Valley care for animals in need, so there really is no excuse not to go along with your dog and treat yourself to a grrr-eat day out.
Downtown Campbell Spring Wine Walk
A classy, relaxed evening full of fine wines and gourmet food — that’s what you can expect at the Downtown Campbell Spring Wine Walk. Held in April, this wonderful event gives you a chance to sample more than 30 delicious wines from some of Campbell’s best wineries. That’s fantastic news in itself, but the best part is that your dog is welcome to join you on the walk (keeping in mind that dogs may not be allowed into all tasting locations)! This paw-pular event always sells out very quickly, so get your tickets as soon as you can. But don’t worry if you miss out on the spring event, as there’s also a winter wine walk for you to enjoy!
