Dickson Street Pup Crawl
Each spring, join Fayetteville Animal Services in the annual Dickson Street Pup Crawl. The event is usually held on the last Saturday in April. Visit and drink at eight different bars in the area, all with your pup! Only one dog per person, though.
Registration is required for the event. Each ticket includes a T-shirt, dog bandana, drink specials, and lots of fun! Extra shirts are available for $15, which is helpful for couples with only one dog.
Tickets go on sale at the beginning of March. Prices will be determined at that time, but they are generally around $35. Ticket sales benefit the Fayetteville Animal Services.

Howl-O-Ween Dog Party
Each October, the Columbus House Brewery in Fayetteville, Arkansas, hosts the Howl-O-Ween Dog Party. Dress your pooch in a fun costume (dog/owner costumes are highly encouraged) and celebrate Halloween with other four-legged friends. There will be beer available for human attendees.
The costume contest will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., so enter your pooch for a chance at winning a great prize! Winners are announced at 8 p.m.
While the event is free to enter, the costume contest requires a $3 donation or an item from the donation list. All proceeds and donations go to Kittie and Kanines.

Wiener Takes All
Each October, the Bella Vista Animal Shelter hosts its annual Wiener Takes All dachshund race. Bella Vista is about a 40-minute drive from Fayetteville, but dachshund owners won’t want to miss out on the chance to win their dog the grand prize at this event!
While the race is dachshund only, other dogs are welcome to come watch and enjoy the day.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Racer check-in starts at 10 a.m., and the actual race starts at 11 a.m. Be sure to browse all of the vendors while you wait for the race to begin. Registration is $20 per dachshund.

War Eagle Cavern
As the only cave near Fayetteville that allows dogs to explore, the War Eagle Cavern on Beaver Lake is a favorite spot for Fayetteville's local dog lovers. With each tour lasting about 30 minutes, you will get a hands-on experience here that you just can't get anywhere else.
There are rules about what you can and can’t do in the caves, but War Eagle Cavern is much more lenient than other caves in the area. You can touch the cave walls and you can bring your dog down in the caves with you, as long as he is on a leash.
Tickets are $16 for adults and $9 for kids aged four to 11. Children three and under are free.
IAMS Dog Park
With convenient access from Bryce Davis Park’s trails, the IAMS Dog Park is a local favorite for our four-legged companions. The off-leash dog park has two spaces: one for small dogs and one for large dogs. The park includes water fountains for both humans and canines, as well as dog waste stations and covered seating.
There is a pond at the dog park where your pooch can swim during the warm months.
Like all dog parks, there are a few rules to abide by when visiting IAMS Dog Park. The park asks that children under eight don’t enter the off-leash area for safety reasons. Please leave all food, aggressive dogs, dogs in heat, and small puppies at home.
